Prerequisites

Docker Desktop — Vision creates and manages its database and message broker inside Docker automatically, but Docker Desktop itself must be installed and running.
A signed-in Claude Code session — Vision drives the Claude Code already installed on your machine.

System requirements

Operating system: Windows 10/11, build 19041+. Docker Desktop's WSL 2 engine sets this floor; Vision alone runs on 1809.
Architecture: 64-bit, x64 only. ARM64 devices are not supported.
Processor: 4 cores or more, with hardware virtualisation switched on in the BIOS/UEFI.
Memory: 8 GB minimum, 16 GB recommended. Vision reserves at most 4 GB of that.
Disk space: 5 GB free — the application, both container images, and your project databases.
Graphics: any GPU with WDDM 2.0. Hardware-accelerated, with no dedicated-GPU requirement.

Exactly what Vision reserves

Vision runs two services in Docker and caps both, so they cannot grow into the rest of your machine. These are the limits it applies — not estimates.

MongoDB (mongo:7.0.40) — 3 GB memory, 2 cores. Your projects, sessions, memory and chat history. One database per project.
RabbitMQ (rabbitmq:4.2.9) — 1 GB memory, 0.5 cores. The message broker that carries work between Vision and its sessions.
Total: 4 GB memory, 2.5 cores. Docker Desktop must be allowed at least 4 GB for the two services to start.

Install

Install Docker Desktop and start it. Vision needs Docker running before it can create its database and message broker.
Sign in to Claude Code. Open Claude Code and sign in with your Anthropic account. Vision runs every session through this, so it has to be authenticated first.
Run the installer. It downloads the current release, verifies it before running anything, and asks Windows for permission once.
Open Vision and let it finish setup. On first run Vision creates its services, waits until they are ready, then asks you to create the owner account.
